INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund portfolio company invests in LuxVet Group

11.10.2022

The INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund, a leading Baltic private equity fund, is entering the veterinary sector in Poland. MiniVet, one of the fund’s portfolio companies in Lithuania, is investing in the LuxVet Group, one of Poland’s largest networks of veterinary care providers. The LuxVet Group is also looking to replicate its successful operations in other CEE countries.

The largest shareholders of the LuxVet Group are funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. (“Oaktree”), a leader among global investment managers specializing in alternative investments, and Cornerstone Investment Management, one of the leading investment management firms in Central and Eastern Europe.

- I am very happy that another strong and experienced partner has recognised our potential. We continue to look for expansion opportunities to create an international, innovative and ethical veterinary platform. The support from INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund is a huge milestone in possible expansion of the LuxVet Group into the Baltics. We are growing dynamically in Poland and have a very promising future ahead of us, both regionally and on a pan-European scale, - says Piotr Zajączkowski, the CEO of the LuxVet Group and a partner at Cornerstone Investment Management.

Oaktree already has a successful veterinary expansion case under its belt in UnaVets, now a leading chain of veterinary clinics in Spain and Portugal, while Cornerstone Investment Management has contributed significantly to Polish market consolidation of the LuxMed medical chain and has had an instrumental role in setting up the LuxVet Group in Poland.

LuxVet Group is already one of the largest veterinary networks in Poland and, by implementing a buy-and-build strategy to consolidate the sector, expects to become the leader in its home country and region by the end of the year. The Group will open an animal hospital for more complex procedures.

- PWe continue to invest in the veterinary sector as we see great potential for growth and expansion there. That’s because, as lifestyles evolve, people pay greater attention to the wellbeing of their pets. Investing in an international network of vet businesses will enable us to share knowledge, talent, the latest treatment methods and most advanced equipment across the platform to provide our customers and their pets with the highest quality of care, - says INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund partner Vidas Venckus.

The INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund acquired the MiniVet chain in June 2022. MiniVet owns two veterinary clinics in the Lazdynėliai and Pilaitė districts of Vilnius.

- Working with such experienced partners opens more opportunities for all of us together to create a successful chain of veterinary clinics and create value for investors. We want to invest not only in Lithuania and Poland but also in neighbouring countries, - says Mr. Venckus.

PerfectVet in the LuxVet Group

18.08.2022

Lublin Veterinary Training Centre PerfectVet – a nationally renowned company offering specialist training for veterinary surgeons and technicians – has joined the LuxVet Group. The cooperation will result in further development of PerfectVet and even better access to knowledge for the staff of the Group’s facilities.

Lublin Veterinary Training Centre PerfectVet offers specialist training courses in veterinary medicine, aimed at the practical aspects of the veterinary profession, as well as workshops for veterinarians and veterinary technicians. With the cooperation with national and international authorities, training courses are characterised by a high level of content and are very popular among clients.

LuxVet Group will work closely with the founders of PerfectVet. Supervision of the training programme and the company’s day-to-day operations will continue to be exercised by prof. dr hab. Łukasz Adaszek in cooperation with dr n. wet. Marcin Garbal. LuxVet will support the development of the training programme offer and the recruitment of new experts for cooperation. In addition, PerfectVet’s offer will be expanded to include intimate, highly specialised workshops where participants will be able to take part in surgical procedures. There are also plans to implement solutions to automate the training enrolment process and post-sales customer service, as well as to create an online workshop module.

-Joining forces with LuxVet Group will allow us to respond even better to the challenges posed by the market. Polish veterinary surgeons are very ambitious, they want to constantly expand their knowledge at good training courses, but they also want to work in places where - thanks to, among other things, access to modern equipment - they will be able to use this knowledge. In this context, PerfectVet and the LuxVet Group complement each other perfectly. - says prof. dr hab. Łukasz Adaszek, one of the founders of PerfectVet.

LuxVet Group is a Polish platform integrating veterinary clinics and surgeries. The group supports their further development and helps expand their offers with new specialisations – by financing the purchase of equipment or adapting premises for new surgeries. These activities are accompanied by investment in vocational training for the staff of the attached facilities. Teams gain additional competencies and can develop in new areas of veterinary medicine – within their existing workplace.

- Investing in people, their professional development and improving their wellbeing is one of the fundamental tenets of our business. Without committed teams, we will not be able to innovate or raise standards in an individual practice, let alone the industry as a whole. With the best veterinary training company in the Group, I am confident that our offering in this respect will be unrivalled. We have many ideas on how to improve and expand it, but thanks to the work of Professor Łukasz Adaszek and Dr Marcin Garbal, we already have a lot to offer. Not only to our employees, but also to all veterinarians who want to deepen their knowledge. - says Piotr Zajączkowski, CEO of LuxVet Group.

In addition, the facility will be relieved of the day-to-day administrative and accounting work and will gain support in purchasing, IT and marketing. The Group will also take care of its employees, offering them, among other things, private medical care and a training system designed to build individual career paths.

A special role will be played by dr n. wet. Marcin Garbal, who will become one of the regional leaders of the LuxVet Group.

My view of the future of veterinary medicine is consistent with the vision of the LuxVet Group's Management Board, which is why this cooperation will go far beyond VetHouse. We want to take an active part in the changes that are currently taking place in the market: in its integration, in improving standards and, above all, in building a network of reference facilities, thanks to which we will be able to help our patients even more effectively. - adds dr n. wet. Marcin Garbal, co-founder and manager of VetHouse.
